Tea Time - Tea Tasting

When my bf and me went to the wedding show to find some ideas for our wedding we got an invite to a Tea Tasting event to a cake shop showing their wedding cake there.
So today we went to Cantù, a little town close to Como City.
The cake shop is called Marra and the event was hosted by them and the Tea Forté producer.

For 6 euro each person, you could take 2 tea cups and cakes buffet.

I tasted first White Ambrosia tea, a white tea with with sweet notes of vanilla and island coconut, very delicate.

After that i got an herbal tea, Raspberry Nectar, succulent raspberry with ruby-hued hibiscus flower, very tasty (caffeine free)

My bf got a Bombay Chai, black tea rich of Imperial spices for a flavorful cup of tea, and Citrus Mint, refreshing herbal tea with peppermint and delighting citrus (caffeine free)

We really enjoy the afternoon with those delicious teas and cakes, so before leaving we wanted to buy a pot of Earl Gray, black tea with Assam leaves with an aromatic liquoring pf citrus bergamot.

Handmade lace hairband

I really love hair accessory as bow and hairband, but it usually it hurt behind my ears, especially at job where i use to wear eyeglasses.
So i started to use soft hairband instead of the rigid ones.
But, even looking around for cute soft hairband I've always been disappointed.
So finally i decide how i wanted it to be and to make it by myself.
I found out it was really easy!

So basically what you need is:
Lace of your choice
Elastic for clothes
Cotton thread
Sewing machine (but u can do it even without if you are good at sewing )

Firs take the measures, the lace must be longer of the measure needed for your head, cause you have to make it elastic.
Cut a small elastic piece, then fix it on the opposite ends, leaving more lace of the whole elastic length
Remember to work on the reverse side.
Now you can sew the whole elastic to the lace, stretching it till the lace is totally straight.

There you go

Do you like it?
I love it!

New year fitness activities

The sunlight saving year starts in January and ends in December.
But all the activities usually starts in September and ends in July.
So this month everything restarted after a sleepy August.
What I plan for this fitness year is to focus on sculpting the muscle, over just losing weight.
I did a very good work from January to July already, losing around 17 libs and getting in fit, my body is grateful.
I want to lose about 2 more kg ( 4.5 lbs) and getting my arms and legs in shape.
So less aerobic and more muscolar exercise, like tonification, GAG (gambe, addominali, glutei=legs, abdominals, buttocks), stratching and pilates (because i can't get to touch my feet).

I started to use little more weight when training.

When i can't go to any class because of job shift i'm gonna run on the tapisroulan and using the step machine.

Not following any special diet, after 9 months i got used to eat less and better, so all i need to do is to keep going like this, i can eat sweetes, chocolate, fried food, but without overdo.
Basically is an easy life.

Special Snowflake Syndrome

From urban dictionary

1.

A malady affecting a significant portion of the world's population wherein the afflicted will demand special treatment, conduct themselves with a ludicrous, unfounded sense of entitlement, and generally make the lives of everyone around them that much more miserable.

The danger of this disease is that the sufferers rarely, if ever, know that they have contracted it, and continue about their merry way under the assumption that EVERYONE ELSE is the problem.

This condition, if left untreated, can radically alter the carrier's demeanor, to include any of the following: a complete devolution to child-like behavior, temper tantrums, and/or fits of narcissistic rage.

When confronted with an individual suspected of harboring Special Snowflake Syndrome, one's best course of action is to run away. Further attempts at educating the carrier on the reality of their condition (e.g., quoting Tyler Durden: "You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.") will likely prove futile, and potentially hazardous to the informer.
-Can you believe that lady who was just in? Where the hell am I supposed to find the earrings that match this necklace that the manufacturer stopped making ten years ago?

-Hell if I know, but she definitely had Special Snowflake Syndrome.

2.
‘Special snowflake’ syndrome, is a disease in which the subject believes that because she occupies a subculture mildly different to the mainstream, she is inherently better, and above them. The subject will never state that she is better, but it is implied, as is the belief that she is rare in her qualities, despite, in reality, being an only slightly less common cliche. Subjects suffering from this syndrome have been known to make statements such as “I’m the girl who’d rather stay home reading Harry Potter than get drunk and get ‘sweet hooks’ “, and will frequently act as if she is under tremendous pressure to act like a ‘typical girl,’ not realising that ‘typical girls’ are a myth, and those she looks down upon are not what they seem.

As soon as she picked up that digital camera and bought some vans she caught Special Snowflake Syndrome.

Motivation

Has been about a month i'm missing the gym.
Because it has been closed for 2 weeks then i had my period, then i had a flue.
Now is time to go back, all the classes have already start and i really need to work out to get fit, my back is alrady hurting cause the lack of exercise.
There is nothing better to motivate myself , to see the result of all my hard work, i'm proud of it.
This is not a thinspo and i'm not a proana or promia.
I do eat, many times per day, and sometimes i also eat chocolate and sweeties and fried stuff (yummy!)
Just i don't overdo.
So i'm gonna show you, and this is an hard thing to do, how i was last summer and how i am now.
Covering my face if this pic is gonna get used somewhere else.
July 2011 on the left and September 2012 on the right
Wearing same top and same skirt, just no hoodie on the right one.

The way you wanna be, the way you wanna look, who you are and who you wanna be is all up to you.
What matter is just being happy.
So this is my choice and i am happy only like this and not the other way.

New sewing work: Petticoat

Actually i started this project a couple of week ago but i was to lazy to report about it.
I made myself a petticoat, because the one i got when i was in UK is too long for almost all my skirt and is not the best one to use for lolita.
This is the petticoat i bought

And being not very tall, as i use to say, this petticoat ends to my calf.
I needed a petty ending right under my knees, and actualli i even need a shorter one.
By the way, i can't teach you anything about how to make a petticoat, all i did was looking tutorial on youtube.
The item you need are
Sewing machine (oh yeah!)
Cotton thread of the color you are going to make the petticoat ( i made it white )
Lining (color as for the cotton)
Elastic (the one for the waist )
Tulle

You better get somebody to help you take your measures, i did it by myself, but better having some help.
And after you got your measures, add many MANY centimeters, to have space to work and do mistakes.

What i did was to cut the tulle in many layers then to sew them over each other, and the sew them over the lining.
Then i did a turnup on the top of the lining to cover all the sewing signs, and i let it open to put the elastic trought it.

The elsastic must be shorter then your waist because you want it to be thignt around you or..the petticoat would fall!
Also this make it curly and give a better effect and more thickness, i hope you get what i mean.
This is the result:

Also checked the petticoat with the dress i'm gonna wear for next vampire larp and the effect is not bad!
But not gonna show you until i get pics from the live, next month!

The olympics torch

Writing right from my bed, i'm trapped at home for a flue that don't want to leave me since saturday.
I still have many pics and many things to share about my vacation to UK.
I also noticed that London has been a common choice for many fb friends, this summer.
But back to te subject:
It happened, while we were in Bredford, that the Olympics torch passed trough Lister Park, that was quite close to my friends home, so even if i don't care about the Olympics games it was a nice event to see.
Here a view of the park, very beautiful and quite big.

We checked the torch path on the web until the time was right, so we didn't had to wait too long.
The park was very crowded so my bf had to put me on his shoulder to le me see something (i'm short!) and that was perfect to take some good pics!

After the torch has passed we went for a walk trough the park and ended to the museum

And this is me being silly
